KC Harvey Environmental is a growing environmental consulting and field services firm headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, with regional operations in Sheridan, Wyoming; Stanley, North Dakota; and Rawlins, Wyoming and remote operations throughout the Rocky Mountains and Northern Great Plains.

Our team is a crucial companion for industries with reclamation, restoration, or remediation needs (energy and mining industries and state and federal agencies) by combining a breadth of consulting, engineering, and field services with a proven depth of environmental expertise.  Our projects include large infrastructure development such as powerlines, pipelines, mines, wind farms, and oil and gas fields.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are currently seeking to hire multiple Reclamation Field Technicians to assist with reclamation activities in our Wyoming operations based in Rawlins, WY. We offer competitive pay (starting $18 to $20/hour DOE) with overtime potential.  Lodging and a meal allowance are provided.  Positions are full time and seasonal, from April through November 2023. Additional positions for current students are mid-May until mid-August.  Employment beyond these dates is possible depending on project needs.

Projects duties include:

  • Manage weeds using truck, ATV/UTV, or backpack mounted herbicide spray equipment
  • Conduct environmental compliance monitoring including vegetation monitoring and stormwater inspections
  • Observe and record rangeland health conditions
  • Identify soil erosion features and plants using a key
  • Summarize field data
  • Navigate using digital maps
  • Map new and existing features using ArcGIS Collector on tablet computers
  • Assist with site specific reclamation plans
  • Install erosion control best management practices
  • Re-vegetate disturbed areas by seeding
  • Install and maintain snow fences and fencing/grazing enclosures

  • Ability to travel regularly to project locations
  • Ability to participate in pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Be 21 years of age or older

WHAT YOU’LL GET

This is a seasonal hourly position. Compensation is dependent on experience and skills. Fully furnished lodging will be provided and the opportunity to work in the high desert of south-central Wyoming.
