Sustaining the Stewards: Capacity, Discernment, and Support in Rangeland Professions
Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2026

Join the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for a 2-hour virtual workshop exploring what really lies beneath "burnout" in stewardship and conservation work. Facilitator Michelle Doerr (Anavah Consulting) will guide participants through polling, reflection, and discussion to help them distinguish personal stress from broader systemic pressures, understand how chronic strain affects thinking and connection to purpose, and walk away with practical tools for sustaining themselves, their teams, and their work. Open to agency staff, producers, academics, students, consultants, and conservation professionals across the stewardship spectrum!

Join South Dakota Society for Range Management for a tour of the 2025 Area IV Excellence in Range Management winners Riley & Jimmie Kammerer. Business meeting, supper and crazy auction to follow!

The day will kick off with the Tour at Kammerer's ranch at 2 pm, with the business meeting being at 4:30 in Rapid City and Supper + Crazy Auction starting at 6 pm.
