Dr. Jim O'Rourke, former president of SRM and tireless advocate for international perspectives across the society, passed away in March 2024. Donations to this fund will be used to support travel, memberships, registrations, and other costs for outstanding international applicants. The fund is overseen by the SRM International Affairs Committee.

Through this honorarium, we honor our colleague, Jessica Orozco, who was passionate about introducing Native American youth to the SRM and to the art and science of range management. Orozco was a Range Specialist with the Hualapai Natural Resources Department and utilized the SRM Annual Meeting as a venue to introduce Indigenous youth to the resources available to advance their communities and careers.  This honorarium is open to Native American and Alaska Native students.

This scholarship offers financial assistance and recognition to a high school senior, college freshman or college sophomore planning to major in/presently majoring in range science and/or closely related field.
