Jess Peterson

Jess Peterson has served as Executive Vice President of the Society for Range Management since 2009, making him one of the longest-serving EVPs in the Society’s history. He provides overall leadership and strategic direction for SRM, working closely with the Board of Directors, volunteer leaders, members, and staff to advance the Society’s mission and long-term growth.

A Montana native, Jess spent nearly 15 years in Washington, D.C., working on agriculture and natural resource policy before relocating back to Montana in 2018. Based in Billings, he continues to maintain a strong presence in federal policy discussions while remaining actively involved in managing his family’s Angus cattle herd on deeded and leased rangelands.
