High School Youth Forum

Hilton Garden Inn, Laramie, WY

What is the HSYF?
In 1966 the  Society for Range Management (SRM) recognized the need to involve youth with range-related activities at the annual meeting.  As a result, each year since, SRM has sponsored a forum to provide an opportunity for deserving high school students to learn about rangeland and other related resources.  Students are sponsored by and represent their respective sections.

One of the main activities scheduled for the participant in the HSYF is the Forum Paper Presentation Session.   Each participant gives a 6-8 minute presentation based on some aspect of range management.  While the topics have been very diverse, one common element is each presentation is high quality.

A panel of judges, all with diverse backgrounds, is selected to evaluate the presentations.  The top individual from the state of Wyoming is then selected to advance to the National SRM meeting, held in Corpus Christi, TX in February 2016, fully sponsored. Check out the HSYF Brochure for topic ideas and prize information!
