Submission of Technical Oral Sessions and Poster Presentations, Titles and Abstracts

NEW:  Call for Submission of Technical Oral Sessions and Poster Presentations, Titles and Abstracts

Abstracts are limited to less than 300 words and titles to less than 15 words long.  Submissions deadline EXTENDED TO October 17, 2018.  Please note the deadline for abstracts from presenters  from countries requiring a travel visa to the US is August 1, 2018.

To submit your abstract, go to the abstract submission page http://srm.apexabstracts.com/ and follow the directions in the left-hand column. There are specific instructions for those who have submitted abstracts in the past, and for those who have not.  On occasion, during the login process you may receive a “Login failure” message.  This appears to occur randomly but reentering your email and password a second time appears to solve the problem.

Once you have logged in and created/updated your profile, click on ‘My Titles and Abstracts’ (under Home in column on left side of the page).  You will have the option to submit a new abstract (top button) or work on an existing abstract.  After typing in the title of your presentation, select the type as ‘Poster’ or ‘Technical Session: Oral’;  then select the ‘Section Choice’.  You must select one of the options for all three choices.  For ‘Poster’ presentations, this will result in each choice being ‘Poster’.  You must submit information for all fields except ‘Comments’ to be able to successfully save and submit your abstract submission.

We will make every attempt to place your presentation in your first section choice; however, we cannot guarantee this outcome.  Depending upon the number of submissions, the specific topic areas addressed in submissions, and room availability, ‘Section’ topics may increase or decrease accordingly.

For any questions related to abstract submission please contact program co-chairs Kevin Sedivec or Jack Norland at SRM2019AM@gmail.com.

*Symposium, Forum and Workshop Sessions Submission Process:

The theme of the 2019 conference is “Gateway to the Prairie.”  In keeping with the theme, we will be open to a variety of different proposals.

Symposium Sessions
Symposium sessions are comprised of a number of presentations, all related to a unifying topic.  Typically, each presenter is provided approximately 20 minutes to speak, but this can be flexible based on the needs of the symposium organizers. After all have presented their work, there will be a shared time at the end for questions and discussion. It is not assumed that those presenting in a symposium format will collaborate before the session, only that they share the time. The idea is that, by providing information and viewpoints on different aspects of a topic in one session, rich discussion among presenters and the audience will ensue.

Forum Sessions
Forum sessions present research, theory, concepts, and practices. These sessions are typically 45 minutes long and consist of either one presentation for the full 45 minutes or, in some cases, two presentations back-to- back (about 20 minutes each).

Workshop Sessions
Workshops are designed to provide an opportunity for in-depth discussion of current and emerging topics of interest to the rangeland community. We encourage workshop proposals that bring together people working on new and developing research topics that favor highly interactive discussions. Those proposing a workshop should provide information showing that the workshop is of interest to the rangeland community and explain why a workshop on this topic is beneficial.

All proposals should include the following:  1) session title; 2) organizer’s name; 3) sponsor, if any (e.g., SRM committee); 4) session description (one paragraph); 5) preferred session length (half-day or full day); and 6) tentative list of potential presentations/presenters.  Early contact with session presenters will facilitate timely submittal and approval of abstracts for publication in proceedings with contributed abstracts.

SUBMISSION PROCESS
Please send all proposals to SRM2019AM@gmail.com.Program co-chairs are Kevin Sedivec and Jack Norland.

Once proposals have been approved submissions of abstracts for Symposia, Workshops and Forums will occur at http://srm.apexabstracts.com/.
