Lost Resources: Leona Rittenhouse 1942 – 2018

Leona Rittenhouse, a life and family member of SRM, passed March 26, 2018, from a malignant brain tumor.  Leona was a regular at SRM National meetings.  She was known for her love, caring, fast-paced shopping and love for traveling.

Friends, faith and family were always the center of her world.  She did everything from opening a bakery, Cake-O-Rama, on Mason Street in Fort Collins, to driving buses for Poudre RE-1 and Transfort; she was a big-rig gear jammer.  Later, she started a large day care out of her home, Carousel Care-O-Rama, that met the needs of many working families over a period of more than 20 years.  She liked to travel and at some time toured all 50 states and over 20 countries on 6 continents.  On any day you might have found her in a gondola in Venice, climbing the Great Wall of China, visiting Checkpoint Charlie, climbing the stairs of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, walking along the Danube, shopping the souk in Marrakesh or Rabat, holding a Koala in Australia, touring the Serengeti, visiting the Eiffel tower, touring the hills of Scotland, watching the world’s largest geyser in Iceland, or crossing the Panama Canal.

She will be greatly missed by her family and many members of SRM.
