POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Agriculturist III, Natural Resources
Reno or Winnemucca, Nevada

This position is involved with all aspects of natural resource management and environmental regulation that affect Nevada's agriculture and natural resources including water. Candidates should have a broad understanding of these issues especially in Nevada and the west. Additional plant Industry duties of this position serve Nevada citizens and Nevada agriculture in a variety of ways. They include: inspection and grading of agricultural products for export; plant quarantine inspection, pesticide monitoring, seed certification survey, and nursery stock inspection.

This position interacts with a wide variety of personnel including: federal, state and local governmental officials; private citizens; businesses and various special interest groups.

Qualifications: a Bachelor's degree in an agricultural science or related field and two years of experience or the equivalent is required. For information about the many benefits afforded Nevada State Employees go to the Department of Personnel website.
